Famous Faces – J.S. Sargent
I was disappointed in the bookstore the other day, no books on the life and works of J.S. Sargent. Then it hit me. It’s all there on my own shelf, being one to (over the years) snatch up every possible book/calender/postcard regarding this 19th century painter.
Recovering from a whirlwind summer of change, I took some time today to pray, remembering the meaning of Soli Deo Gloria. I then took some time going over the life of my hero-painter, and was refreshed. I sketched some of his portraits, to be filed away appropriately under Famous Faces.
My pencil versions of John Singer Sargent’s portraits, Mrs. Horace Webber, 1911 – Lady Agnew of Lochnaw, 1892
